The Great British Sewing bee. BBC2.

I don't know why, because my sewing skills are just moderate at best, but i am kinda hooked on this quirky little show.

It reminds me of 'Project Runway' in a way, and i love that show, so maybes that's why i love it.

I have just found out that there's only four episodes, so it's already half way through the series. Lets just hope there is another series, as it really is lovely to watch.

Living where you live.

Do you like where you live?. The area, i mean. I wish i could say that i did. But i can't.
 
As i went out today, i noticed just how dodgy and down my area looked. The next street along from mine is a building site, literally, as some company is building new houses on the land there.
 
I just wonder who in their right mind is gonna wanna live there. It's depressing.
 
There again. i've lived there 31 years, and it wasn't always depressing. It was only about 10 -15 years ago that it went downhill, but its not as bad as it once was, but even so, its not exactly the Orange County.
 
I, hopefully, will be leaving the area soon, so its just a case of hanging on until i fand some place better.

Why i love The Monkees.

Yeah, that's right. I am a huge fan of the band that was around in the late 60's, when i wasn't even born.

I have always loved "Last train to Clarksville" and "I'm a believer" since i was a kid. My mum was a fan way back when the tv show was on telly. She also remembers when Davy Jones was in Coronation Street.

Anyway, i knew they had a tv show and that they had a few songs. That's really about all i knew until i watched a documentary about them on tv, and i didn't quite realize that they started out as a spoof band on some tv comedy aimed at ten year old girls and turned into this real band, who released quite a few pop songs. Good pop songs. And i had no idea about their movie either.

I wanna watch "Head" now. I haven't seen that. I am so thankful that YouTube have Monkees episodes on there.

Anyway, back to why i love the band. My mum bought me a CD for christmas. I knew i liked a few of the songs. I had no idea how many i liked until i started playing the album and then realized that i REALLY loved a lot of their stuff. I also realized exactly why i loved the band so much.

The reason?. Micky Dolenz voice. It's so unique and really under rated. I think i could listen to him sing the GO Compare song, and still think he sounds great. I think i am more a fan of his, than the band. I mean i love a couple of Davy lead vocal songs, like A little bit me, a little bit you and Valleri, and i really like the Mike lead What am i doing hanging round and i like Shades of gray, but the idea of listening to Davy and Mike and Pete solo albums isn't really something i get really excited about, but i am actually wanting to buy Mickys solo albums.

Also he wrote two of my favourite Monkees songs, the politically themed Mommy and Daddy, which i really like, and the fantastic Randy Scouse Git, or Alternative title as it was renamed over here in the UK. Also, if you listen to Pleasant Valley Sunday and Goin' Down and P.O Box 9847 then you can really get a good idea of just how great his voice is. And why i. and a lot of other Monkees fans, think he is one of the best, and sadly under rated singers of all time.

Haven't been marketing this baby at all.

This blog is my baby. I know that it sound's sad, and it is, but when i started this blog, i decided it was gonna be all 'Me'.

No trying to be cool. No pretending i like something when i don't. This is just me.

I do realize that i haven't been marketing this blog very well. Hardly anyone knows i have one. Maybe i am just scared that no one will like it (me), but i started this blog so i could share stuff with the world, and not be scared to have my opinions and thoughts heard.

So from today, i am proud of my blog, and no more hiding it away.

Law and Order.

I love all of the law and order shows (even liked trial by jury).

My favourite show is "criminal intent'. Bobby Goren (played fantastically by Vincent D'onofrio) is probably my favourite character in the whole L&O universe. I love his quirky personality and his troubled personal life. And i adore his and Alex Eames partnership.

I love Munch, too. And Lenny Briscoe and Ed Greene. They are my second favourite partnership. Followed by Olivia and Eliott (svu), Nicholls and Serena (criminal intent) and Devlin and Brooks (l&o uk).

I also loved Mike Logan and Briscoe working together.

My favourite lawyer is probably Abbie Carmicheal. I also liked Serena Sutherland (who had a very iconic exit). Also Jack McCoy is a legend.

Also, there are a lot of 'before they were famous' guest stars. And even Julia Roberts starred in an episode of the original.

Law and Order franchise is one of my favourites ever.

I am loving "Broadchurch".

Incase you don't know, the show is a mystery drama about the murder of a boy and how the murder affects his family, the community and we also see how the police (so far attempt) to solve the murder.

Think "the killing" and you'll have an idea of how the show is playing out.

I am really enjoying it so far. I only watched it because i am a fan of David Tennant, so thought i would check it out, and i love it.

I have some idea's about who killed Danny. I think Tom could have done it, maybe with his dads help. I really do think Susan (the dog walker, who apparently uses another identity) knows more than she lets on. I think she's Jacks wife, too.

But, then again, i suspect everyone at the moment. That's why i love this show, because it's unpredictable and just when you think you have something figured out, it twists in another direction.

This and Mr Selfridge are two of the best shows on ITV recently, in my opinion anyway.

I can never find a foundation that is just right.

I have VERY pale skin. There's pale skin, and then there is my skin tone.

And the problem with having very pale skin is that trying to find foundation that doesn't make me look like a tangerine is an impossible task.

None of the high street stores seem to do pale foundation. Even the supposed pale foundations are just not pale enough.

Anyway, i have searched through some sites and i have found a few possibilities to try, so fingers crossed i find something that a) is actually pale and not orange b) that it's not too oily so it wont cause a breakout and c) hope its not too lightweight, so it can actually even out my skintone.

I know i ask a lot. But i take medications for my dry skin and breakouts, so i sometimes need foundation. And i just hope i can find a one that does everything i need.
