'Fair Game' was a little boring.

Based on a true story about a CIA agent, who's husband spoke out against the Iraq war, and in response, had her cover blown.

It's an interesting story, and that's why i watched the film, but i didn't find it engaging.

It was like an info-mercial against the Iraq war. I know why the troop's were sent there. The American (and other) government's thought Iraq had weapon's of mass destruction, and declared war. I really didn't need the first hour and a bit of the film telling me this fact.

I would have liked to have seen more of  what happened to  Valerie after her cover was blown, but maybe the writer's thought the debate of the war was better material, than a woman trying to re-build her life and marriage was.

"From afar" chapter three.

Vonda sat in front of a pile of files in an empty interview room.
Four women. Assualted. Strangled. And then, strangely, made up to look like they were ready for a night out.
Nothing surprised her anymore, but this came close.
"Why the make up?" Vonda wondered aloud, as Jay walked into the room, carrying another pile of files. He had decided, on a whim, to go through cold cases, and see if any more victim's showed up.
"That's what i wondered" Jay replied, as he sat the files on the table."I checked some make up studio's, but there's a lot, and New York has a lot of professional's, and...."
"It's fine." she told him. "That can go on the 'to do' list."
Jay sat down."You know what else i'm thinking?. Why does he feel them up and yet not rape them?".
"I don't know." Vonda admitted. That had puzzled her too."It's like this person is..."
"Wacko?" Jay added.
"Un-conventional" Vonda corrected. "And, extremely unstable. And dangerous".

'From afar' chapter two.

Jay Denwood escorted Vonda to the staff kitchen, made her coffee, and then proceeded to tell her about exactly why he needed her help.
"I have four unsolved murder's." he said, quietly. "All four women lived alone, and were between thirty and forty five years old. No woman had any link's to the other three."
Vonda nodded."I see".
Jay looked at her, studying her for the first time since her arrival. Long white-blonde hair, hazel coloured eyes, slim figure.
She could see he was checking her out, and got his attention."You want me to do what, exactly?".
Jay looked away from her. "I think the murder's were the work of the same man" he explained, firmly."Someone who had the oppurtunity to be alone with the women and kill them. I just don't know who. Or how to catch him".
"I can help." Vonda told him, with a smile."First of all, i need to see the files, and then we can see if the unsub has left us any clues to help us find him".

Going to write a story for this blog.

It's going to be a short story, about a detective and an FBI profiler, who solve a series of murder's, and maybe fall in love along the way.

I am still working on my novel idea's, and other short stories, so this story will keep me going, if i get writer's block or need to have time away from my novel or other stories.

Hope you enjoy.

"From afar" chapter one.

As she walked into the old, badly decaying building, Vonda Richmond glanced around, wandering what she was doing here.
It looked more like a squat than it did a police precenct.
She also saw how crowded the building was. There was an open office space, with desks facing each other, and almost every desk was occupied.
She made her way over to the nearest desk, avoiding bumping into anyone, and approached the man sitting there.
"Hi" she said, trying to sound more confident than she was feeling. "I'm looking for Detective Denwood".
The man looked up at her. He was young, around mid-30's, with short black hair and light blue eyes. He spoke with a soft texas accent. "You found him".
"Oh" he was younger, and more handsome, than she imagined him to be." Hello, detective. I'm your FBI profiler."

I really enjoyed 'Fracture'.

'Fracture' is a brilliant film, for anyone who hasn't seen it, i highly recomend.

It's a psychological thriller about a man, who shoots his cheating wife, and confesses to the crime. So the trial should be simple, right?.

Not exactly, and what should be an 'open and shut' case, turns into a battle of wit's between the man, and the public defender, who quickly realizes that getting a conviction will be tough, if not impossible.

There's a clever twist at the end. The film may be two hours, but it didn't feel that long when i watched it. The time just flew by.

Great film. Well written and acted. It's going on my list of favourites.
